Who we treat
Daylily specializes in reproductive psychiatry. That means additional education and expertise on mental health care pre-conception, in pregnancy, and during the postpartum period/breastfeeding. We are also here to support patients through infertility, abortion, and loss.
Reproductive psychiatry is not only for birthing people! Partners and support people may benefit from our services as well.
Services we provide
Teresa is a psychiatric nurse practitioner specializing in reproductive psychiatry. She is here to provide diagnostic and medication management services to patients along their reproductive journey. In addition to providing psychiatric services, we maintain a list of other professionals whose expertise can be helpful along the way. This includes therapists, lactation consultants, doulas, acupuncturists, pelvic floor PT, and more.
At Daylily, we firmly believe that the mental well being of our patients is an important factor in pregnancy and the postpartum period. We look for a balance of medication safety and symptom management. For patients who have changes in pregnancy status, we will adjust medications appropriately and safely.
what to expect at appointments
At your initial appointment, we will go over your medical history, current concerns, and goals for treatment. Together we’ll discuss a plan of care and go over any new medications. Teresa may also do some counseling and make recommendations regarding therapy or other beneficial outside services. This is typically around one hour.
At follow up appointments, we will talk about both the therapeutic effects and side effects of any medications and changes or adjustments will be made if appropriate. Together we’ll track progress and work toward reaching your goals through medication management as well as therapy and other methods. Follow up appointments will usually be 15-30 minutes.
Before all appointments, you will receive screening forms. This will give us an idea of where you are beginning your mental health journey with us and it helps to track trends over time during your treatment.
